Now, I was gonna have a weight capacity of up to 500 pounds, so with me getting on in it, I'm about 245 pounds so roughly about half the weight of it and it barely kind of goes down just by a smidge. So I think the expedition's gonna work with this very nicely. more

Thule Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Arcos enclosed storage box and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. Now this is gonna be a hitch-mounted carrier, and if you're familiar with rooftop boxes, this may look pretty similar. The construction is gonna be a hard shell plastic much similar to a rooftop box, but the benefit of this is that it's gonna be easier to reach by installing it in the hitch, and you're gonna get the same benefits of that roof storage where it's enclosed from the elements and lockable. Now the other benefit is gonna be the added height. more

But essentially, if you are looking for a lightweight and easy solution for you to get a little bit more storage out of your vehicle, you have some decent storage in the trunk but maybe you want some more storage for a longer trip or just a way to get some larger, messier items from a hardware store, grocery store, anything like that, this is gonna be a good option for you. The carrier is made of aluminum, which is how it stays so lightweight, but it is capable of supporting up to 500 pounds. Let's go over some of the features of it, show you guys how it interacts with your Ranger.Now right away, a cargo carrier, why this is useful for you is, if you're taking a family trip or just going on a trip with your buddies or something like that and let's say you already have your bed full of all your luggage and cargo and stuff and the cab is full of four to five people. Well to get your coolers, other totes and bags like that, you're probably going to want something like a cargo carrier on the back to help conserve on that space in the bed or even make more room in the cab so you don't feel crammed while you're in there. And personally, I like hitch-mounted carriers over roof-mounted carriers, just because it's less wind noise and drag that's on top of your roof, it's all behind. more

etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer, and today we have a 2018 Ford Edge. We've been testing some hitch-mounted accessory to it. Right now we have the etrailer.com tilting them full folding cargo carrier installed. This is going to be a really nice accessory to add to the hitch of your edge so you can get any excess cargo or luggage or anything like that out of your vehicle and get it stowed on the cargo carrier for travel. That'll just help out with making sure you got enough leg and elbow room for your passengers from maybe one of those longer road trips.Another great use is that if you maybe have a ton of equipment that's really dirty or muddy you just spent all day out in the rain and mud, you can just load that stuff onto the carrier, strap it down, and then take it home without getting it on the floorboard of your edge and having to clean up those carpeted floor mats. Now, if your carrier does get dirty, it's pretty easy to clean. more

Today we have a 2019 Ford Explorer and we're going to be showing you how the Rola Cargo Carrier is going to interact with it.With this cargo carrier, you're going to be able to get some of that cargo out of your vehicle or extra cargo onto the cargo carrier making your trip a little bit more enjoyable because you're not going to have to leave anything behind. This cargo carrier is going to have a 600 pound weight capacity, but you do want to check with your vehicle's owner's manual and the manual of your hitch to make sure your hitch can hold that much.Now a couple of dimensions for you guys so you know what you're getting into. The total length that you've added to the rear of your Explorer is going to be about 32 inches to the furthest most point there. Because you can't tilt this up to your vehicle, you are going to always have that length as long as it's inserted. The closest point, is going to be about eight inches away from your vehicle, which is far enough away to where it's not going to come up and hit your vehicle and you're still going to be able to slide in and get anything from the inside. more

Today on our 2017 Ford Explorer, we're gonna be test fitting the MaxxTow 30x50 wheelchair cargo carrier, with a 60 inch folding out ramp. Right now, we have it in the loaded position, meaning your wheelchair would already be in this carrier, and you have several points along the carrier to actually tie it down with your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Let's go ahead and show you how to fold out the ramp. To do that, we'll one at a time pull these pins out here along the side, lift those up, and we'll reinsert the pin top here. There we go. This has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds, has this mesh floor at the bottom, which makes it easy to clean, and all the way around the cargo carrier, we have these points here, which you can use as tie downs for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Whatever it is you use to tie down your gear. Let's go ahead and give you a couple of quick measurements. Measuring from the edge of the bumper to our outer edge, we've added about 26 inches to this point here. Our closest point to the bumper is going to be about six and a quarter to this edge. We do have dual exhaust, which is about 11 inches from the cargo carrier. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're going to be doing a test fit on the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" hitches only. The nice thing about this cargo carrier is that it has these walls all the way around that clip together in order to make sure that you can get your cargo in here, but you don't have to worry about tying it down nearly as much to make sure that it stays contained. This is very handy because it'll give you a good idea of exactly how much you can fit. Now, this cargo carrier does have a 450 lb capacity. It's got a steel mesh floor down here on the bottom in order to help make sure that dirt and debris falls through and doesn't collect so that it can get onto the bottom of your cargo. Let's take a few measurements. First, we'll take ground clearance here at the back of the cargo carrier. We're sitting right about 23" there. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Curt 20 x 48 steel cargo carrier. Part number C18110. Now on this cargo carrier, it features a steel mesh floor. That's going to help make sure any dirt and debris falls through and doesn't collect up here so that it gets onto the bottom of your cargo. Also here we've got this lip all the way around the outside and it has some pre-drilled holes that are good for cargo tie-down points to make sure that your cargo stays secure on the top of your carrier. It's got these braces here that come along either end and those are going to help to give it a 300-pound capacity. Now let's take some measurements. First we'll do ground clearance at the back of the carrier and at the bottom of that bolt, we're looking right about 20 1/4 inches. more

Today on our 2015 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier, part number C18110. On this particular cargo carrier, something that's really nice is that it's got this nice, heavy duty steal flooring so that whatever dirt and debris they get on here is going to fall through so that way it doesn't collect and get onto the bottom of your cargo. It's got this brace that goes straight across the center and then a nice strong frame that supports it around the outside to give it a 300 pound capacity. Here on the lip, that makes up the wall all the way around, we've got some predrilled tie down points to help make that you can keep your cargo secure on this carrier. Let's take a few measurements. First, well see total distance added to the vehicle. That's going to be about 26 inches. We'll get the closest point to the vehicle which is right about 6 inches. more

Today in 2012 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at the 20 by 48 curt cargo carrier for an inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18110. This has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds but also has a mesh floor on the bottom which makes it easy to clean and it has these points all the way around the border of the cargo carrier and those serve as tie down points for either your racket straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. To our average here, we've added about 26 and a half inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance from the bottom of this bolt is going to be about 13 inches. Now our closest point, this edge here is going to be about six and a half inches. Now the exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the passenger side but it faces down and since this has a bend on the shank to kind of prop it up, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, plus it's about 14 inches from the cargo carrier itself. Really you wouldn't worry too much about putting any heat sensitive material into your cargo carrier. more

Today on this 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the 20 x 60 Curt Cargo Carrier, part number C18150. This has a 500-pound carry capacity and has this nice mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the cargo carrier and that can serve as a tie-down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. It also has these stickers here, which are reflective, which will make it easier to see at night as well. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. From the edge of the bumper to our outer edge here, that's going to be about 27-1/2 inches we've added to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance to this bottom edge here, that's going to be about 14 inches. Our closest point will be this edge here; that's going to be about 6-3/4 inches from the bumper. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Escape c18151- Video
Today on this 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number C18151. This has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds, has a mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean, and it also has this rail all the way around the cargo carrier. That can serve as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Now with it in this position, I'd like to give you a couple measurements here real quick. From the edge of the bumper to our outer edge here, it's going to be about 33 inches we've added to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance, that's to this edge here, that's going to be about 11 and a half inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Escape- Video
Today, on this 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting a 48 x 21 max tow cargo carrier for two inch hitches, Part number MT70422. This has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds. It's made from a sturdy aluminum material. Easy to clean. It's going to have tie down points both at the front and at the rear for your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, and also has two reflectors to make it very visible at night. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first one is going to be from the edge of the bumper to the outer edge here. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Ford Escape- Video
Today on this 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the 23x60 Stromberg-Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" hitches, part number CC-100. This has a 500-pound carrying capacity. It has a nice mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean. All around the cargo carrier, we have these larger pre-drilled holes. Those are going to serve as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. We also have 3 smaller pre-drilled holes here, which you can use for either reflectors or lights should you choose to install them. We have 2 pre-drilled holes here, just in case whatever it is you're hauling blocks off your license plate, you can transfer it down here. I'm going to go ahead and and give you some measurements now. more

Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit on the 20 by 48 Surco cargo carrier for 1 1/4-inch hitches, part number 52017. On this cargo carrier, it features a nice steel mesh floor which is going to allow any dirt or debris to fall through so it's going to help you keep this clean much easier. Around the edges here, it's got this nice thick frame which allows you to put tie downs just about anywhere. It's got a nice black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion. It's also got these crossbars here just for a little bit of extra added support which helps give it that 300-pound weight capacity. But on this particular vehicle, it's got a class 1 hitch with a 200-pound ton weight rating so you'll definitely want to keep that in mind when loading it up. The ground clearance here at the back of this one is right about 11 inches. more

Today on our 2010 Ford Fusion, we're going to be doing a test fit of the 20 by 48 Curt cargo carrier for 1 1/4 and 2-inch hitches. Part number C18110. This particular cargo carrier has a number of nice features. One of which being the steel mesh flooring that's going to be easy to keep clean because dirt and debris can fall right through but it's also nice and sturdy. Then it's also got these walls here. These walls are about 2 3/4 high. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be taking a look at the CURT 20 by 48 cargo carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number is C18110. This CURT cargo carrier has a weight capacity of up to 300 pounds. We're going to start off by taking a few measurements just to give you an idea how it works with the Escape. The closest distance to the back of the vehicle is going to be . let's get it from the furthest point of the vehicle .. going to be about 6-1/2". more

I've already got it loaded up on the Fusion, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. I would say it's a mid-sized cargo carrier. We've got plenty of room to tie down our cargo on the raised side rails here. Got a nice mesh floor, so dirt and debris is just going to fall right through, which means it's going to be really easy to clean. Its dimensions are twenty by forty-eight. more

Today on this 2010 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 48 Surco cargo carrier for inch and a quarter hitches. Part number 52017. Now we already have it installed on our vehicle, let me go ahead and go over some features here. First off this has a 300 pound carrying capacity and has a nice mesh floor here which is going to make it really easy to clean. It has this rail going all the way around the cargo carrier which can serve as a tie down point for you ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Whatever you use to tie down your cargo. MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow Cargo Carrier, 48 by 21 inches, for 2 inch hitches, Part Number MT70422. This is an aluminum cargo carrier, so it's nice and light. Since it's pretty flat, it's going to be easy to store in your garage or maybe in the trunk of your car. The raised edge that goes all the way around measures just about 2 inches and the frame of it at the widest point is about 5-1/4, so it would be pretty easy to put this up against a wall somewhere and keep it out of the way. I'll give you a few more measurements here. The closest distance to the back of our Escape is going to be just about 4-1/4 inches and the overall length that we've added to our Ford is going to be about 26-1/4. more

Today, on this 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be test fitting the Surco Cargo Carrier, part number 52017. This cargo carrier has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds. It has this mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean, and around the borders of the cargo carrier, we have this rail which can be used as a tie in point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and you give you some measurements. Measuring from the bumper to this rail here, we've added about 23 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance, we're at about 11 inches. For our closest point, which is this edge here, we're at about a quarter of an inch from the vehicle. Now, the exhaust of this vehicle's going to be on the passenger's side and it is close to the cargo carrier so you do want to be carrier whenever you're loading any heat sensitive material to make sure to keep it on the driver's side. We have total access to the trunk with the cargo carrier installed. more

Today on this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the 23 x 60 Stromberg Carlson cargo carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a carry capacity of 500 pounds. It has this mesh floor in the bottom here which makes it easy to clean. All around the cargo carrier we'll have these points here which will serve as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. On either side we're going to have these smaller three holes here which you can install either a reflector or a tail light if you needed to and then there's these two holes here which in case what you're hauling blocks off your license plate you can actually transfer it down here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to this edge here it's going to be about 26 inches that we've added to the rear of the vehicle. more
